Placement-based Training at Moorlands Midlands
Moorlands is delighted to be able to offer our BA (Hons) in Applied Theology and BA (Hons) in Applied Theology (Youth and Community work) from a Centre in the Midlands.
Both courses will be delivered through our placement-based programme offering you a biblically, theologically and practical based experience to develop and equip you for future ministry. The BA (Hons) in Applied Theology (Youth and Community Work) also comes with the JNC Professional Youth Work Qualification.
You will be able to study our BA (Hons) degree programme whilst remaining in your local area. The programme is designed to equip you biblically, theologically and practically across three years of study, with each year focusing more closely on your specialist area of ministry.
The placement-based option is delivered in one-week study blocks across the academic year, allowing you to engage in activities in a local placement. There are four study blocks in the first year at the IMC (International Mission Centre), Birmingham, with an additional three study blocks at the main campus of Moorlands, Sopley. These weeks are intensive study blocks with lecturers guiding you through your learning and helping you to relate the theory to your weekly practice.
Whilst you are studying you will have a placement within your local area, this could be your regular work based ministry or a new placement in a local church or organisation. Whilst in this placement you will have a personal tutor, a placement supervisor and will meet regularly with others studying who are local to you in order to support and encourage each other in your work.
If you are interested in studying at our Midlands Centre then please come along to one of our Midlands Open Days, this gives you an opportunity to hear more about the course, meet key tutors and discuss the possibilities.
