BA (Hons) in Applied Theology
The programme is designed to equip you biblically and practically across the three years of study, with each year focusing more closely on the area of your choice within a context of applied theology. The specialisations available are Missional Leadership; Children and Schools Work; Community and Family or Professional Studies in Missional Youth Work.

In this placement-based option you can study in one-week study blocks across the academic year, allowing you to engage in activities in a local southwest placement. There are six study blocks in the first year at the SWYM base in Torquay, with an additional three study blocks at the Moorlands College Christchurch Campus. These weeks are intensive study blocks with lecturers guiding you through your learning and helping you to relate the theory to your weekly practice.

Whilst you are studying you will have a placement within your local area. This could be your regular work-based ministry or a new placement in a local church or organisation. A minimum of ten hours per week is required. Whilst in this placement you will have a personal tutor and a placement supervisor. You will meet regularly with others studying, who are local to you, in order to support and encourage each other in your work.

With a focus on developing and equipping you in your chosen ministry area, the course seeks to enable students to master a level of understanding through, lectures, presentations, debates, seminars and their own personal study.

If you are interested in studying at our South West Regional Centre then please come along to our South West Open Day, this gives you an opportunity to hear more about the course, meet key tutors and discuss the possibilities.

For further information about this course, please contact enquiries@moorlands.ac.uk and we will be delighted to discuss your calling with you.
