Overview:

We are seeking a Technical Assistant to work one day a week to support the Technical Services Manager with the day to day running of the Higher Education College Computer network and phone system.

This role will require someone confident to support students and staff with IT queries, including multi media, sound desk and PA queries. Alongside routine electrical maintenance, there will be opportunities for creating technical training materials for staff and troubleshooting faults with servers and enterprise level IT equipment.

Successful candidates will have a good understanding of working with MacOS, and the confidence to listen and offer guidance to staff and students with technical queries. Able to work alone with minimal supervision. Previous experience of working in an IT environment would be an advantage, or aspirations to build on established technical knowledge and pursue a career in IT.
