Equipped Exeter: Evening courses to resource the local Church

Are you based in the South West? Are you interested in doing an evening course to enrich your knowledge of the bible?

Our Equipped: Exeter courses are for you.

Equipped has become a hugely popular series of evening courses over the last few years – designed specifically to address the needs of Christians and their local churches. Moorlands College Equipped courses are now being hosted regularly across the UK, emphasising the difference Equipped can make to local church and community life.

As God’s people, we have been called to care for one another as we ‘clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.’ (Col. 3:12)

So often we find ourselves having conversations with others who struggle with life need to talk things through. We might ask, ‘How do I get alongside and help others in need?’ ‘What can I do to show compassion?’ ‘Do I need all the answers?’

If you have a heart to help others and would like to understand how from a Biblical perspective, this course will support you in exploring the basics of caring and counselling skills as well as providing a framework to guide you. You’ll be encouraged to reflect on your own life as we learn, equipping you to have a deeper understanding of how to help others effectively.

What is the value of books written three thousand years ago? How can they be relevant to our time and our culture? Are they historically reliable? Is their picture of God consisten with the teaching of the New Testament? The aim of this course will be to look in depth at how we interpret and apply the teaching of the Old Testament in today’s world. It will consider some of the critical, historical and moral issues that rise from the text, but the primary focus will be to consider how we can hear God speaking to us through this part of his Word.
