About

Ruth is married to Ian Coffey. They have four grown sons and have are eleven grandchildren.

Ruth has been employed in the medical field most of her life and worked in a variety of nursing roles, in wards, hospice care, GP Practices and Operating theatres and Recovery. Alongside this, she has supported Ian in Baptist pastoral ministry in a large church in Essex and a city church in Plymouth, Devon. Prior to coming to Moorlands, Ruth worked with Ian in an expatriate Church in France, as the Pastoral Co-ordinator.

For the last ten years Ruth has been involved at Moorlands College as a lecturer and personal tutor. Since gaining her Masters in Theology at Moorlands in 2011,  she leads the Foundation Year. The Foundation Year enables students, who do not have the academic qualifications to  access the degree directly by completing a year of studies that prepares them to progress on to the degree programme. This is an exciting opportunity and most complete the four-year degree with respectable passes.

She also teaches Pastoral Care at Level 5 as well as being a personal tutor for Placement Based students and serving on various committees at the College.

Ruth, alongside Ian, has opportunities for teaching outside of Moorlands College, in Churches and conferences in the UK and abroad. In the past Ruth has been part of the teaching team at Spring Harvest, and currently contributes teaching  at Keswick conferences around the world, such as Japan and Australia and regular training for Salvation Army Officers in the UK.
