Office Manager

Moorlands College are seeking an experienced Office Manager, to lead our Admin Team, and improve/develop the general administration of the college.

As a key role in our Operations Management Team, the Office Manager takes the primary lead on the day-to-day admin function of the college, working closely with the Director of Operations, and supporting them as needed.

The role includes the equivalent of one day per week in a front of house role serving as part of the general admin team, as well as covering any annual leave/sickness for members of the team. Our main reception is open 0830-1730 Monday to Friday, and the team currently consists of two staff members each working 2 days.

Successful applicants, will have experience of leading teams, and proven ability to create develop and operate processes for the improved efficiency of workflow. Previous experience in an administrative management role is expected.

Lecturer in Applied Theology (Foundation Year Lead)

2 Positions – Between 0.5 FTE and 1.0 FTE to be negotiated taking into account the College’s needs and other candidates’ requirements.

We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity to join our teaching team at Moorlands College. Our vision is to equip people, passionate about Jesus, to impact the church and the world. Two new posts are being created to replace a number of roles and enable the College to fulfil its strategic objectives, which include the introduction of a new undergraduate programme with a stronger digital delivery profile and the attainment of degree awarding powers.

The successful applicants will play a significant role in the spiritual and community life of the College. The areas of teaching will be negotiated according to the College’s needs, which primarily relate to teaching various aspects of Christian ministry and secondarily to biblical studies. One of the successful candidates will lead the College’s current Foundation Year studies. Other responsibilities for both roles will include teaching, assessment, participation in the quality assurance of the College’s provision, personal tutoring and scholarly activity. The College promotes personal development through a programme of in-house pedagogic and scholarly training.

The successful candidates will be qualified at least to Masters level and have on-going experience of Christian ministry. It will be advantageous to hold a doctorate and to have experience of higher education teaching and module design. Candidates must be proactive, passionate about their subject area and able to engage with students to act as inspiring role models.

Learning Assistance Tutor

We are delighted to announce an opportunity to join our Student Welfare team at Moorlands College.  Our vision is to equip people, passionate about Jesus, to impact the Church and the world. We are seeking a Learning Assistance Tutor

Moorlands College Learning Assistance Tutors provide one to one study skills support in person and remotely to students in receipt of Disability Students Allowance (DSA).  We support students with dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactive disorder as well as other disabilities.  Learning Assistance tutors also provide supplementary study skills support to student as required.

Successful candidates will have the mandatory qualifications and professional memberships as stipulated by the Department for Education for the positions of either Specialist one-to-one Study Skills and Strategy Support -Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) or Specialist one-to-one Study Skills and Strategy Support  -Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).


Working hours and Benefits

  • Variable depending on the number of students receiving DSA support. Average of five students allocated if available.  Students average 30 hours support per academic year.
  • Salary: £17.66 per hour
  • Location: Moorlands College is situated in tranquil, rural campus grounds at our Christchurch Campus, Dorset on the beautiful South Coast.
