Ian Coffey
Acting Principal
Ian is the Director of Leadership Training and a campus-based tutor. He lectures on both the BA and MA programmes, where he draws upon more than 40 years of leadership experience in both the local church and parachurch contexts.

Andy du Feu
Executive Director
Andy is the Executive Director at Moorlands College. He is also our Director of Youth and Community Work and a tutor. He lectures on a breadth of subjects on the BA, and teaches a specialist MA module in digital communication. Andy has extensive experience as a youth worker and church pastor, and speaks regularly at youth events and churches.

Karen Todd
Director of Communications
Karen manages internal and external communications overseeing the development of our public relations, events and marketing, as well as holding responsibility for recruitment and fundraising. She brings a wealth of experience from her background in business and leadership.

Dr Ian Kirby
Director of Academic Quality
Ian is the Director of Cross-Cultural Training and lectures on the BA programme in modules such as contexts of faith and working cross-culturally. Ian previously lived in Kyrgyzstan for ten years, where he was involved in church planting and teaching.

Dr Helen Morris
Head of Postgraduate Studies
Helen has recently been appointed as our Head of Postgraduate Studies. Prior to this, she was the Acting Director of Studies. She lectures on a variety of areas such as the Old and New Testament, Church and community, and exploring the mission of God.

Matt Mellor
Director of Operations
Matt manages the large team of people who keep the college running; covering personnel, IT, health and safety, facilities and catering.

Abi Maguire
Head of Undergraduate Studies
Abi has recently taken up the role of Head of Undergraduate Studies. She lectures across a range of areas including Apologetics and Church and Community. She also leads Youth and Community Professional Studies. Abi has passion for Christian ethics was previously a lecturer in Bioethics and Medical Law at a London University.

Director of Finance
David was our former Director of Operations. He has extensive experience in the field of finance and is available to discuss fees, loans and other money matters with prospective students.

Ruth Coffey
Foundation Year Leader, Placement-based Champion
Ruth leads the Foundation Year, teaches on pastoral care, and has an active role as a placement-based tutor. Ruth and Ian have a joint ministry and they regularly speak at conferences and church events in the UK and abroad.

Helen Hender
Lecturer and Practice and Vocations Manager
Helen oversees placements, and manages the practice modules at college. With over 30 years’ experience working across the voluntary, community and statutory sectors, Helen is passionate about seeing students apply academic knowledge to their everyday life.

Dr Daniel Paul
Head of the School of Language and Scripture
Dan directs our School of Language and Scripture and is the course leader for the MA in Language, Community and Development. He is also a translation and linguistics consultant with SIL International, serving language projects in West Asia.

Chris Jack
Lecturer
Chris is the lead tutor of the MA Bible and Preaching specialism. He also tutors and lectures on the BA programme: focusing on worship, Greek, and the New Testament. Chris has been teaching for over 25 years and has a ministry spanning over 40 years in both the UK and overseas.

Dr Chris Sinkinson
Lecturer in Old Testament and Apologetics
Chris tutors and lectures on both the BA and MA and regularly leads student tours to Israel. He was previously the pastor of a New Forest church. Chris writes a monthly column for Evangelicals Now and has authored a number of books relevant to biblical archaeology.

Jonathan Woodhouse, CB
MA lecturer
A Baptist minister and former Chaplain General of the British Army, Jonathan is the lead tutor of the MA in Applied Theology Chaplaincy specialism and teaches on the core Ethics module. He has 24 years’ experience as an army chaplain. Jonathan and his wife, Jackie, also used to serve as college Chaplains at Moorlands College.

Dr Andy Thomas
Senior Tutor at South West Regional Centre, lecturer
Andy leads the training team at SWYM. His passion for engaging with theory and practice has seen him church planting in Brazil; involved in HIV/AIDS-related ministry in South Africa; and church leadership in rural Devon.

Centre Manager at South West Regional Centre, lecturer
Tim helps to manage the running of the South West Regional Centre. He teaches on a number of modules, and manages the centre’s library. Tim also works for SWYM’s resources team.

Centre Manager at South West Regional Centre
Clair works alongside Andy and Tim in running the centre. Her main focus is on planning and pastoral care, with some teaching. Clair is also the senior youth worker at her local church, and serves as part of the leadership team.

Sharon is the Senior Tutor at our centre in Northern Ireland, supported by Youth Link: NI.
She leads the team to deliver the BA degree programme and she’ll be on-hand to help you through your BA in Applied Theology (Youth and Community Work) studies with us.

Catherine has almost 30 years of experience in education and development contexts primarily among non-dominant language communities in Asia.

David Gray
MA Language, Community and Development Lead Tutor in Scripture Engagment
David has spent the last 25 years working in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and other parts of Eurasia, both in translation and Scripture engagement, and is a qualified consultant in both domains.
